Our History and Philosophy
PROBIOMED is a Mexican biopharmaceutical enterprise oriented to research, development, manufacture and commercialization of pharmaceutical products for human health. Since our establishment, in 1970, we have worked to provide millions of people around the globe with high-technology and affordable solutions that help improve health and quality of life.
Our portfolio is composed of a wide range of chemical synthesis generics and high-tech biosimilars -such as cytokines, monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins and recombinant vaccines- for the prevention and treatment of autoimmune and chronic-degenerative diseases, hematological and metabolic disorders, as well as malignant neoplasms, among other conditions, covering medical specialties such as cardiology, surgery, dermatology, endocrinology, hematology, oncology, orthopedics, nephrology, neurology, traumatology and urology.
We began by fabricating active pharmaceutical ingredients by chemical synthesis in Mexico City and, after almost 3 decades, in 1997, we launched one of the first follow-on biopharmaceuticals –now known as biosimilars– in the world.
Our Research and Development Unit, formed by an interdisciplinary team of highly specialized professionals, designs and develops pharmaceutical products and processes with cutting-edge technology to offer high-end health solutions on a global scale.
We develop drugs from active pharmaceutical ingredient to medicinal product or, in biotech terms, from gene to medicine: the integration of productive chains has allowed us to make PROBIOMED one of the manufacturing companies with the highest added value in Mexico, and to offer top class products at affordable prices so that more and more patients have access to the treatment they need.
We invest more than 20% of our profits in research, development an regulatory update; employ more than 900 men and women and operate 3 manufacturing facilities that comply with the strictest national and international standards. Two of our production sites are located in Mexico City and, our main campus in Tenancingo, State of Mexico, is one of the most advanced biopharmaceutical centers worldwide.
