PROBIOMED COMMEMORATES ITS 49th ANNIVERSARY
With almost half a century of history, Mexico ’s BIOpharmaceutical company currently counts with a portfolio composed by more than 70 products for the treatment of chronic-degenerative diseases of great social and economic impact, operates 3 manufacturing facilities, offers more than 800 direct jobs and exports to Latin America, Asia, Africa and Europe.
Mexico City, March 17, 2019 – On March 17, 1970, Jaime Uribe de la Mora, now President of PROBIOMED, founded a small laboratory that manufactured active pharmaceutical ingredients by chemical synthesis. After years of research and development, in 1997 the company launched one of the first biosimilar drugs in the world.
Considered a pioneer in biotechnology in our country, with almost 50 years of history, PROBIOMED has managed to consolidate as Mexico ’s BIOpharmaceutical company, being the only Mexican pharmaceutical that develops biosimilar products from the drug to the finished product completely in national territory, becoming one of the manufacturing enterprises with the highest added value thanks to the integration of productive chains.
Today, PROBIOMED has a portfolio composed by more than 50 chemical synthesis generics and 12 biosimilars for the treatment of chronic-degenerative diseases of great social and economic impact, operates 3 manufacturing facilities that meet the strictest national and international standards, exports to Latin America, Asia, Africa and Europe, and offers more than 800 direct jobs – administrative, technical and high specialized positions – contributing to the growth of the Mexican economy, science and technology, a critical factor to boost the competitiveness of our country.
